Review of "The Forgotten Gods Counseling Group", by L. D. Hutchinson

Every family has its problems.  And for every problem, there is a group out there that can help smooth out the wrinkles.  Support groups, counseling groups, and a myriad of others.

But what if you’re a goddess, and your dear old dad, (who just happens to be Zeus, Number One Guy on the Pantheon panel and holder to the keys to Olympus) decides to kick you out of the heavenly home?  And the reason is a very unjust one–he likes your sister, Aphrodite, better.

This is Aetina’s story.  She is booted out, ostracized, and has to spend her eternity wandering around New York.

So where do you find a counseling group for this sort of situation?  I very much doubt that the Yellow Pages has much to offer.

With the help of her friend, and fellow forgotten god, Sjorn, she finds one–right in the heart of Urban Wonderland.

Here she finds others who are even worse off than she is.  It all seems so pitifully funny to Aetina, who smirks at their problems and how they obsess on them.

The “funny”, however, is over when she discovers that Aphrodite has sent someone to destroy her.  Then she needs all the help she can get.

Ms. Hutchinson has a fresh concept in this book.  Her characters are a lot of fun, and, without a lot of unnecessary detail, she has made them very likeable.

She gave her characters some very important godlike traits, which weave in very nicely with the mortal appearances they’ve chosen.  The attraction women have for Sjorn, and his carefree reaction to his female ‘fans” was fun to read.

The ending was a pleasant surprise, and it also left a lot of room for further stories.

Hopefully, we’ll get more from Ms. Hutchinson in the future.

L. D. Hutchinson was born and raised in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She’s been writing since she was able to hold a pencil in her hands and form words and drawing since about the same time. Her love for reading books came when she was about eight years old and she picked up her first book. A Novel titled ‘Hawkson’ that’s gone down as one of her favorite stories. Though she reads books such and Sherrilyn Kenoyon’s Dark Hunter’s series, Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey series (Which she is a huge fan of.) P.C. and Kristin Cast’s House of Night and many more.
Most of her books have been influenced from the many things she’s read and watched over the years. Her favorite thing to do other than write and draw and even design her own book covers as well as other’s is sit down and veg out to play some video games. It’s one of her favorite passion’s she’d never give up.
You can catch her with her nose pressed up in the newest comic or manga she finds or a good novel if not there then on Photoshop, or playing videogame and trying to beat top scores again.
Due to that she was published with Midnight Hour Publishing where she publishes all her works into the world. May they be YA, Adult or anything in between!
